Ocean acidification
Introduction:
Ocean acidification is the growing problem in our modern society that has become dependent upon gas and electricity. It is the process of dissolving Carbon dioxide into water which releases H+ ions which leads into increasement of PH value of water. Everyday million tons of Carbon dioxide has been absorbed by oceans which leads into the ocean acidification and results into impurity of waters and loss of aquatic plants and animal lives.
Causes:
· Increasing industries
· Raising of carbon dioxide in ocean and atmosphere
· Decrease in carbonate ions
· Lack of awareness
· Scientific experiments
Effects:
· Level of carbon dioxide rise in the oceans
· Less food for human consumption
· Loss of animal lives
· Difficulty for aquatic animals to reproduce and survive
· Affects the ecosystem
Solutions:
· Awareness programs
· Strong rules and regulations
· Support environment friendly initiatives
· Regulation of factories
· Reduce energy use
